Meet the Doctors
Dr. Matthew Neale
Dr. Neale, originally born in Pocatello, Idaho, spent a significant portion of his early years in the United Kingdom and Canada, accompanying his father, a theologian. Returning to his roots in rural Idaho for his undergraduate studies in Chemistry, he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. During this time, his research interests centered around enzyme kinetics in sucrose metabolism. Despite brief forays into mechanical engineering, molecular biology, and analytical chemistry, Dr. Neale eventually realized that his true calling lay in using his talents to alleviate human suffering. Motivated by this realization, he pursued and earned his medical degree in 2007 at the Chicago Medical School. Following a one-year internship in Internal Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, he completed his ophthalmology residency in 2011 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. With six beautiful children and engaged to be married, Dr. Neale, an avid lover of camping and skiing, cherished spending quality time engaging in these activities with his family. After many years of professional service in Eugene, OR, he ultimately decided to relocate to Idaho.
Dr. Josh McAdams
After practicing for five years in the White Mountains of Arizona, Dr. Josh McAdams has recently joined Maple Grove Eye Care. His academic journey includes earning a Microbiology degree from Brigham Young University in 2006. Dr. McAdams took a two-year academic break to train and compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and then completed graduate school in 2012 at The Southern College of Optometry. His expertise extends to various aspects of optometry, having completed a rotation in neuro-optometry and ocular disease. Dr. McAdams adeptly manages a spectrum of conditions, ranging from diabetic retinopathy to macular degeneration. He particularly enjoys the challenge of fitting complex contact lenses and firmly believes that patient satisfaction is the cornerstone of a thriving eye clinic. In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. McAdams is a proud parent of four adorable kids and is fluent in Thai.
